Luna is the fourth Ghost Beast of the Forbidden Land. She is a huge white furred wolf Beast who makes her home in the Dark Wood. While the other Ghost Beasts gain immunity from any blows by taking an incorporeal form, Luna instead turns completely transparent and invisible while also becoming spectral. When invisible, the only visible part of the Beast are her eyes, which constantly glow a deep crimson. The Moon Wolf has the ability to influence animals, using them to fight while she only strikes when her foe is weakened. Her influence wanes when the moon is covered or otherwise absent. Her manipulation is powerful enough to break the strongest bonds, such as driving Silver to attack Tom and Elenna. The Moon Wolf is incredibly agile, able to leap multiple times her own height and move with incredible speed. She is also armed with sharp claws which allows her to land fatal wounds with a single swipe. The Beast is one of very few to have reproduced, having a litter of cubs she cares for, although it is suggested these are not young Beasts, but normal wolf cubs whose mother is a Beast. She was given the fourth piece of the Amulet of Avantia, which she kept with her cubs. Luna is named in reference to the moon due to the common affinity between wolves and the moon, primarily the incorrect but common idea that wolves howl at it.
Invasion of Eastern Avantia[]
Luna was one of the six Ghost Beasts who came together to attack eastern Avantia to claim the territory for their own. The Beasts drove out the inhabitants of the land, either by killing or chasing them out. The group agreed Luna would take the woodlands in the south of what were now known as Forbidden Land. While the other Ghost Beasts decayed their new territory to make it sparse and lifeless, likely due to her reliance on manipulating creatures and wish to raise cubs, Luna saw the value of allowing life to continue to exist within the woods and elect to only cause minor alterations with her spectral influence, primarily making the species in the forests more deadly and cruel.
Battle against Taladon[]
Luna and the other Ghost Beasts allied themselves with Malvel, hoping to invade the rest of Avantia and expand their territory further, with Malvel acting as king of the wasteland. Taladon was dispatched to defeat the Beasts, with the Moon Wolf being his fourth foe. The Master of the Beasts triumphed over Luna, but was defeated later on his quest by Malvel and Stealth. Luna returned after her defeat, and was given a fourth of the Amulet to defend in order to prevent Taladon from regaining corporeal form.
The Amulet of Avantia[]

A young Avantian girl named Marina crossed into the Forbidden Land in pursuit of an owl named Snowy, who she was close with. Snowy flew over the wall and was attacked by Luna, who dealt a powerful blow to his wing. Marina crossed the wall when she heard the owl's cry of distress. The Moon Wolf howled, spotting her crossing the wall and emerged from the wood with a horde of wild animals influenced by her, howling to bring them to her and then again to command them to attack, turning invisible as the moon struck her. Marina was able to flee over the wall, but Snowy succumbed to his wounds after falling at Marina's feet. With the Avantian safe on the other side of the wall, Luna leapt into the air, watching her retreat.

The Avantians crossed into the Dark Wood in order to find the fourth piece of the Amulet of Avantia. The Beast found them camping for the night, stalking forwards in ghost form. Tom and Silver heard the sounds of Luna approaching and rose to fight, spotting the light of Luna's eyes. The Moon Wolf brought forward a group of animals and commanded Silver to attack, the wolf being forced to comply. As the animals attacked the Avantians, the Moon Wolf circled the camp, watching but not advancing. She howled again, bringing a group of dogs and foxes into the fight. Despite the wide forces Luna attacked with, Silver was bound in a net, and the other animals proved ineffective. Seeing the battle lost and not willing to attack herself, Luna retreated and Tom pointed out the Beast as she did so, her eyes receding and disappearing in the dark.

In order to defeat Luna, Tom and Elenna dug a pit and covered it after remembering how Errinel had dealt with wolf problems by digging a hidden trench around the village. They found Luna's four cubs and managed to lure them out of the den, revealing the fourth piece of the Amulet. Luna returned, howling in greeting to her cubs, causing them to freeze. Seizing the opportunity, Tom grabbed the scruff of the closest cub and carried it away to use as bait. Luna burst from the trees, searching for her young and was met by an arrow fired from Elenna, which bounced off of her thick hide. The three remaining cubs rushed to their mother, with Tom releasing the final cub to join them, having accomplished what the cub was needed for. The Beast rushed forwards, slashing at Tom, who deftly rolled aside. The Moon Wolf turned quickly, smashing her snout into Tom's shield. The warrior thrust his sword at Luna's heart, however it failed to penetrate her flesh. The Beast swiped again, but her attack was avoided by Tom ducking. Elenna tried to help by firing again, this time at the Moon Wolf's head, but the arrow simply bounced off again. The Ghost Beast leapt into the air, with Tom sidestepping and slashing, catching her muscle and harming her but not drawing blood, only enraging her. Luna howled, turned invisible, and charged at Tom, who barely managed to leap aside. The Moon Wolf summoned wild animals to her aid once again, which slowly emerged from the Dark Wood, but were held at bay by Elenna, Storm, and Silver, and the pack began to disintegrate as clouds covered the moon. The Beast resumed physical form as she pounced, sailing over Tom as he threw himself to the ground. Tom rushed towards the pit, with the Moon Wolf leaping a huge distance to keep pace with him. Tom crossed the pit and turned to look as if he was preparing to fight, with Luna landing on the pit, which collapsed under her weight and dropped her in, causing her to cry out in shock and rage. The Avantians began to cover her in dirt, however the Beast refused to accept defeat. She gathered what remained of her energy to leap from the pit. The Beast, unable to see the top of the pit, was unaware a sharpened branch used to cover the pit had fallen to the side of the hole and when she leapt out, she landed on it, the branch sinking deep into her chest. The Beast scrabbled in the dirt but was defeated as she closed her eyes and dissipated.

- Invisible Spectral Form: Like the other Ghost Beasts, Luna can switch between a physical form and a spectral form at will, but unlike the other Ghost Beasts, her spectral form allows her to turn fully invisible, leaving only her eyes visible.
- Wild Animal Manipulation: Luna has control over wild animals when the moon is visible in the sky.
- Natural Weaponry: Luna has sharp claws and fangs.
- Thick Hide: Luna has a thick hide, thick enough for Elenna's arrows to bounce off and for Tom's sword to not make a scratch when hit by it.
- Enhanced Speed and Agility: Luna has enhanced speed and agility, allowing her to leap and move around opponents at a fast pace.
Weaknesses[]
- Moon Requirement: Luna cannot control wild animals if the moon is not visible, like if clouds covered it, or it was daytime.
- Trained Animals: Luna can only control wild animals, so a bred and trained animal like Storm wouldn't be affected.
- Pierceable Hide: Luna's hide can be pierced by sharp branches.
